Chapter 1

History As It Was Written

2060: After the Third World War, the war know as the Apocalypse, had happened humanity had fallen into a technological slumber, the nuclear devastation that everyone had feared had occurred.

And in the midst of this devastation the human world is presented with a new threat the annihilation of the race by an extraterrestrial force.

1990: A powerful nation blinded by the arrogance of one individual receive the perfect excuse to declare war. The occupation of Kuwait by Iraq , and the Gulf War come to pass, but the greed that consumed that man was not satisfied. Years passed and it is his son who now comes into power and through him he will achieve his goal.

Sept 11 2001: The attack against the World Trade Center in New York City , was the cause and the reason why the US population supported the military movement towards the Arabic country, and the beginning of the Antiterrorism War.

2002: The occupation of Iraq and the so-called Antiterrorism War started. This in fact was a masquerade to a personal vendetta. The occupation, which was supposed to be only temporary until a stable government was accepted, turned into a deathbed for many innocent for a decade.

2011: The U.N. forced the liberation of Iraq from the current rulers, the Arabian block is formed, a syndicate to help Iraq recover from the 10 years of occupation. The bonds that held World peace started to break as new of attacks all over the world started swarm the media. The group that was still being blamed for all this was Al-Kaeda. Although not a pacifist group they had taken all the blame to make a name for themselves and to gather more followers.

2015: After 4 years of the liberation of Iraq it seemed as though peace was starting to be achieved, governments started economical and political talks, the open trade became a hot subject in all the media, until a revelation came. During the past 14 years UN and “Department of Global Defense Counterintelligence” a still unknown organization had been performing an extensive investigation on the 09-11-2001 incident and have claimed that the perpetrators for this was none other than the U.S. administration at that time.

2021: After six years of deliberation and litigation, the Bush Administration was found guilty of crimes against the human society. George W. Bush was still alive and hearing the results of the deliberation commits suicide at the age of 75 on Sept. 11 2021 .

2025: the UN breaks up due to continued heated arguments and debates about the truth behind the so called war on terrorism, The United States still claims they had in fact been in the right, yet evidence was to the contrary. The Arabian block wanted justice for what had occurred during the occupation. The rest of the world intervened\ined, complained and generally made things difficult for the council. It was clear to many on the U.N. council that something in the world of diplomatic relations was not right.

It was at that stage that some senior members began to fear that the U.N. had indeed been compromised, but by whom? For what purpose? This could not be answered easily. To this end it was decided that the one controlling body that had outmost priority over the world of politics should be dissolved. This is the worst news that the world could receive, as the only body that was able to bring all nations together is now gone.

2030: Finally, all international relations between countries break down, the Arabian block has grown stronger and still seeks for revenge against the U.S. for the mistreatment Iraq suffered. The Asian Coalition as well as the European Coalition are founded each of them with 5 major corporations as their strong arm. In the Arabian Block 3 major corporations emerge, as petroleum has become a luxury yet many parts of the world still depend on it. Russia reemerges, this time not as a communist nation but as a Mega corporation, many of the countries that broke from it when communism fell now have to seek refuge in one of the few countries that have a somewhat stable economy.

2032: The U.S. closes its borders to export and import, South America which mainly depended on US imports now ban together and form the Sud-America Unida Coalition (SAUC)sponsored heavily by the new and powerful soviet sector.

2038: The world is now in a critical state very few of countries that remain as an independent government see that a strong militia is needed to survive, an example is Australia that somehow have managed to stay out of this conflict yet remain allied to all coalitions.

And so the world without noticing is preparing for the largest war ever.

2050: Apocalypse, the day arrived in which human life was threatened by their own petty greed. Tension between the US and the Arabian block has grown exponentially. Resources in most western countries had all but been depleted. Fearing total collapse the US decides it has no option but to move on the Arabic block.

Within 6 months of fighting the Americans and their ally Israel had caused massive damage, the losses where no less shocking, total loss of confirmed dead on the US side where in the region of 2,000,000 soldiers while the Arabic block fared much worse calculating loses in the 5,000,000's. This was the published figures, the truth behind this death toll was indeed far worse and many more losses would continue for a long time into the future.

Russia who had been building weapons and importing them into Cuba had been using massive underground tunnels to ship tons of military hardware into the southern parts of Brazil for well over a decade. It was now their chance.

Russia began an invasion under the cover of night and by the next morning Russian and SAUC troops and hardware had been deployed across US boarder lines and the invasion was already well underway. The US response to this was swift and brutal, before night had fallen on the first day, no less then 3 nuclear bombs had been deployed across southern America and 1 into the heart of Cuba with another 5 aimed at Russia.

All but 1 of the missiles aimed at Russia was shot down, this was no accident, while the 4 nukes had been of a conventional construction the 5th was not and was in fact a prototype stealth missile. It struck with blistering accuracy and before the eyes of the world the Kremlin burnt to the ground along with the city of Moscow and miles of surrounding territory.

The world's reaction to this was at first shock and then outrage, before the fortnight was out the Asian coalition was on the move to aid the Arabian block. The Asian coalition also deployed a large fleet into the pacific ocean to form a wall around the rouge country, what was about to happen in the south pacific was to remain in the pacific, It was guaranteed that the U.S. would be launching no incursions or reinforcement missions that way.

The bulk of the Russian army was on the move towards the US along with almost every North Korean contingent available. Before the Koreans had even managed half their journey the south Korean Army along with the US support in the region launched a calculated strike on the north Korean government and with in moments had gained control over a country that had spent over 100yrs under the rule of 1 single tyrannical family. With out orders even being issued the North Koreans turned their vessels and headed for home. To the North Korean population the invasion was not seen as hostile, it was seen as liberation, for over a century the people of NK had suffered under the military rule of their leader's. For the first time since anyone in the country could remember there was hope for the future even amongst the ashen waste lands that had already begun to engulf the world.

At this point however, the world fell into a whirlpool of chaos and destruction as smaller countries attempted invasions of other countries and larger countries ran to the aid of allies.

As an Australian fleet pulled out on their journey in response to a call for assistance from the U.S. Government an invasion fleet of more then 150,000 Indonesian soldiers began their own invasion of the northern reaches of Australia .

Then suddenly one of the only countries in the world to have truly escaped the ravages of WAR was thrown into one of the bloodiest street gorilla wars in the history of mankind as men and women alike took to the streets to turn out their invaders. In less then 6 months the Australian Home Land Defense along with the help of hundreds and thousands of civilians had turned the tides on the invading forces and were now in fact planning missions to overthrow the Indonesian government in control, for almost 300yrs the tensions between the Indonesians and Australians had been on rocky grounds. For the first time in history the Australians had put the foot down and taken the fight to them. As the jungle wars of South America worsened the tension eased in the south pacific. The Asian coalition, who was allied to both Australia and Indonesia seen the opportunity to bring stability to the region. They assisted Australia in the capture of Indonesia in return for signing a peace agreement with the Asian Coalition. In doing so however the Australians were forced to sign a non-aggression pact with the Russians and were forced out of a defensive role with the U.S.

For the first time since the history of wars began the only country to be fairly removed from the conflicts was the Britain . The bonds that once tied Britain to the USA had been broken for many years. They had seen the building aggression towards the east from U.S. ; they had seen it all before. This time however the British and her commonwealth began to move their troops into positions across the Arabian block.

After the war on terror the British had signed a non-aggression pact and were on the verge of signing a peace agreement with the Arabian block. With the worsening fuel supplies they had no choice but to help repel the US assault. In the mean time the U.S. was still involved in a ground battles across southern America , the technology that had always played a vital role in the US supremacy proved to be futile for jungle warfare, and casualties from both sides kept increasing at a steady rate, however U.S. casualties were increasing more rapidly.

2053: Turning of the tides. During one of the quietest days in the middle east since the war had broke out rose a giant flash and a mushroom cloud rose, one of the largest nuclear bombs ever detonated was activated in the heart of Israel, within moments all but a few building where gone. Who deployed the bomb will never be known. How they got it and from who is something that will remain a mystery forever.

What is known is that with the loss of Israel from the war, the US were once again losing its battle in the east, with virtually the whole world against the US they had no choice but to retreat from the east and head for home. What happened next took everyone by surprise, in a cruel twist of fate or something worse all guidance systems and control computers throughout the US failed. What had been a full proof system failed spectacularly, over 300 nukes went online. 50% never made it out of their silo's and detonated on the spot, the flashes raced across the American continent like lightning in a summer storm, with in hours the entire country save for a few inner states had been decimated. Those that did make it out however rained down across the world with precision and accuracy. Cities in Japan , England and France had been leveled. At about the same time American missile silos in Germany left over from the end of the Second World War also burst to life and in most cases they detonated on activation. Those that made it out of Germany rained across many places in Europe but most had been aimed fair square at places formally apart of the soviet union, some of these places had long since abandoned the pursuit of communism in favor of the democratic life yet these nukes knew no politics, they knew only one thing, Destruction.

Defensive measures where swift from both France and Russia with England holding the finger very closely over the button. Before the Americans even got a message out that it was a mistake the French and Russians had retaliated, 5 hours after the first nukes detonated on US soil yet another volley touched down.

2054: The critical strikes the U.S. had deployed with the use of nukes at the start of the war was beginning to take effect, communications between southern American regiments and the Russians was now down to transmission styles of the old ways, this proved to be costly to the Russians, they had suffered already with the lose of their capital city and main control center for the entire Russian army. Now with most of Russia burning and America all but a waste land there was not much choice for the Russian and SAUC forces to stand down.

By 2056: 6 years after the first move, the world had seen the loss of more than 5 billion lives from every walk of life from every corner of the globe. The human race was ready for the wars to end.

2059: Peace: One of the few remaining superpowers in the world, China the head of the Asian Coalition orders the US to demilitarize, and destroy all remaining weapons of mass destruction or what is left of them, but not only request the US to demilitarize. It also request that all countries destroy any type of weapons "including China itself" only small firearms were allowed to be retain and this were to be extremely controlled.

2062: The memory of the "Apocalypse" was still very fresh in everyone's mind, all efforts for humans have been on recovering the few green patches left in the world. War or enemies was not an option anymore, humans had to suffer a lot to finally realize that they needed to help each other in order to progress.

However in the midst of this devastation the human race is presented with a new threat.

Chapter 2

History As It Really Was

The world was a strange place after WW3; it was for those that had been around before the war anyway. The land itself had been changed in many places due to the size of some munitions used during the conflicts that raged across the planet. But not only had the land changed so too had attitudes and technologies, in replace of gas guzzling cars their was a slew of new hydrogen vehicles along with a host of new types of aircraft some for the private sector and some not, It was essential, the environment was under intense pressure trying to deal with the levels of radiation in the atmosphere, most people truly believed and with good reason that the end was coming near. But for the now life went on. Indeed the cities where flourishing in this technological wasteland but as the cities grew so too did they consume more. Before long the land around these bright cities had grown brown and dirty with disrepair. The people flocked to the cities in droves to hide form the torment left to remind mankind on the outskirts. These places where life would no longer grow served as an eternal monument to the horrors of man.

All the while a growing menace lurked deep in the solar system, for the Aliens the time was coming for them to step up operations, they could not afford to let the humans destroy what little was left of this precious planet, a blue pearl in the desert of space.

If anything went wrong now there would be no chance of saving the planet, there would be no chance for them to find a new home, the time was coming indeed. Yet it would take another few years at least to mine the oar required to build the fleet of vessels and it would take almost that long to grow the clone army. They had to move, but they had to move carefully.

They had misjudged their actions and miscalculated the effects mind control would have on the humans, they had made many errors before and they were not prepared to make more.

Often the human vessel would simply cease to exist; their brains would hemorrhage profusely until the body laid still and silent. It had happened to Hitler as he lay cowering in his bunker. Sure there were many stories but no-one knew the truth.

Then there was JFK who had also been taken control of by the Alien's the Russians knew this, they also knew of the Alien threat.

Early in the 60's the Russians had detected strange signals coming from the planet Mars. No sooner had they detected the signal when it abruptly ended, for many years they searched for the signal again to no avail. The Russians however knew that the signal was not of natural origin. They spent the next few years sending automated probe after probe in search of the source also to no avail. Then came the faithful day no sooner had the Russian Martian Lander touch down on mars when the microphones detected the sound of crunching gravel, within seconds of that strange rhythmic crunching the signal was again lost. The stories varied around Russian space agency Christmas gatherings and no one actually spoke out loud what they thought the sounds had been, officially of course it was mere electromagnetic static coming through the microphone on the Martian end. This however was distinctly not true every single person who had witnessed the sound confessed that it had sounded like some one walking up to the probe. What made this really strange was that only a few hours after the probe had touched down the American president was on the phone on behalf of NASA proposing unison of the 2 countries in the combined efforts to reach the stars.

This not only surprised the Russians but made them deeply suspicious of the USA reason and sudden change of heart. Why would the president call the Space agency when they had been trying to merely contact NASA for many years in an attempt to share research to no avail! Now suddenly the president of the USA was on the phone talking to this underpaid batch of scientist? It was at this point that the Russian scientist approached the fledgling UN council and informed them of their findings and suspicions. Of course by and by the scientists were laughed out of the building but their efforts had not gone unnoticed. The head of the UN board had organized the construction of a secret organization consisting of a few select people from several different countries, they would be charged with the responsibility for investigating such reports of suspicious behavior in key Political and high profile people. The head of council drew up a charter and had the members of the U.N. sign an agreement that would allow this investigating organization the privilege of passing boarders unhindered, the coded name for these such agents was TALON. It was here the Aliens really began to worry.

The Aliens knew that if they were to be successful they would need to guide the world towards one world power, they would then need to implant every member of the government and the world would be theirs for the taking. It would be a breeze to move onto the planet that way, they would order the destruction of all defensive weapons, they would reduce all nukes to nil and when the world was at its weakest, they would come.

In the early stages of TALON there where many lessons to be learnt, it was far easier for them to move in the cover of darkness, and due to the constant threat often kept moving their HQ around the world. Their first mission was to asses the threat of the American President was indeed under control or at least in communication with an Alien Race.

No sooner was he under investigation then the president was assassinated.

This was a concerning occurrence for TALON, this meant that the aliens were already aware of the secret organization. How could they have known, was it an agent? It was in fact the very person who had begun the organization. The Agency concluded that he had been taken sometime after the formation of the agency, It was clear that he could not be allowed to continue in his position of power and so TALON went on their first abduction mission.

With the loss of the U.N. Leader the TALON agency lost a very important friend, they had been operating for a few years by that stage and had made many friends in different fields around the world but the loss of U.N. support would force them even further into the shadows then before, TALON would remain silent for many years as they observed from a distance. The organization all but faded from the minds of governments as cabinets came and went and wars where won and lost, so to did it seem that the Aliens had forgotten about them. But TALON remained.

In the early days many lessons had been learnt indeed, it had cost the lives of almost 20 agents since the conception of the organization. Most had been lost during missions in the darkest of nights, some strangely committing suicide for no reason and others that just disappeared with out a trace, one thing was very clear however, not even TALON was safe.

The very few artifacts that the agency had collected over the years where difficult to decipher and it would not be until the coming of the computer age that TALON would get its first real break. It would be almost 30yrs before TALON would be largely active again.

The year is now 1990, TALON is now larger then ever before with almost 30 active agents that consisted of everything from scientist to data analyst and skilled mercenaries, some who had been selected and others that had found their own way to TALON, the agency was always very suspicious of these types of people and very strict process's would insure that the person had not been compromised. Under surveillance it was relatively easy to tell if a person was under mind control. The agency would lock these persons in a cell and with out the ability to continue with their objective the compromised humans would go insanely mad beating at the walls until their hands had become bloody pulps, shortly after the brain would once again falter and the victim would fall to the ground dead. Out in the public however it was not so easy to tell, it appeared to the agency that the Aliens had indeed spread further then they expected, in the early days it was easy to get to high profile people but the years of suspicion and abduction had left governments paranoid and now it was almost impossible to get to them, even the Aliens were finding it hard. But with more tools available to them it appeared as though the aliens had the upper hand. One thing was for sure the current American government had been compromised. Shortly after the fears of the agency had been confirmed, the Americans launched an attack on one of the largest countries in the Middle East . What appeared to be truly a squabble over oil and occupation was in fact a struggle to gain control over an area that was once the capital territory of the whole Middle Eastern nations, with control of IRAQ the Americans hoped to unify the country under the American banner. What had appeared to be a personal vendetta had turned into the first brazen move on behalf of the Alien race.

The year is 1995, through a stroke of luck TALON get their first glimpse of their enemies, it is but just a poor quality photo, but it revives the virtues of the agency and renews the passion for success. It was hard fighting an unseen enemy, now that enemy had a face, the encounter between the agent and the alien was brief, and both fled the scene with not a shot fired.

This was of little consequence, the aliens now knew that TALON was on the game and getting closer then ever, at this point the Aliens had a choice, they could launch an under numbered invasion or they could scale back their operation and wait for the right time. After catching a glimpse of the human agent the Aliens thought it best to wait and bide their time, indeed missions continue and the Aliens continued to pursue High profile personalities but they would be more careful then ever now, the last thing they could afford was the lose of technology to the human race.

The year is now 2025 and the Aliens have appeared to have infiltrated the U.N. in drastic numbers, fearing the outcome of Aliens gaining control of the U.N. TALON set about in a task to destroy the U.N. This was of course with a heavy heart that the agency made the call, but for the good of mankind there was no choice, there was no way they could let Aliens take control of the largest governing body in the world.

2050 Neither TALON nor the Aliens could see the long term effects of removing the U.N. from the picture, Indeed the Americans had once again been influenced by the Alien race, but not even they had noticed the growing soviet force in the southern reaches of Brazil . The following war was in almost no way the fault of the Aliens or TALON, such is the nature of man that we can strike an enemy at its weakest and that is exactly what the Russians planned to do, some how they had known what the American plan was. In fact they had known 10years before what was coming. For not only was it the UN leader that listened to the scientist all those years ago, so to was the Kremlin, they had been watching the US very closely.

Outraged by the Russian move, the then president of America authorized the use of the nuclear weapons, of course this was met with stiff opposition even in the American ranks, but when the president says it time, the people have no choice but to comply or face charges of treason, a charge that had been used far to often by the president recently, a charge that was ended with a firing squad.

Even though the Americans had used their nukes against the Russians they could not return fire with the use of Nukes, after all they were not there to kill the American civilians they were there to remove what they thought was an alien threat. It didn't matter now; the people who had know why they were fighting this war were nothing but dust floating around the remains of the once proud city of Moscow . The war continued, but the Russians were already fighting a lost cause.

Unfortunately once again the Human vessel that was the president of the USA had gone berserk, crazy from the voices in his head and in a moment of panic hit the button for DEFCOM 5. This was a security level that had been abandoned since the early stages of the 60's indeed the threat of the cold war was there, but no one believed for a second that anyone would be crazy enough to start a nuclear holocaust. Who could have known the effects of brining so many systems online at once after all it had never been done before. As what so often happens at the wrong time, the global network of military super computers crashed, rivaling that of the great Wall Street Crash of 1929 the world fell into a depression, the Apocalypse had arrived.

The world had lost most of it technological breeding grounds, the mighty silicon valley was a waste land and the White Sands test bed for new technologies had become a deserted ghost town, it was far to dangerous to venture near due to the persistence of automated security systems, the nuclear reactor at the core of White Sands guaranteed that the active Bots on patrol would keep patrolling for a long time to come. This was the same story the world over, many of the people who could access these areas were long dead, some died during the war but many died from the radioactive cancers that are sweeping the globe. Rather then governments controlling the new technology research field's, massive corporation's controlled events. Companies now are the puppet masters to governments all over the world.

Feb. 14 2061, 2 weeks ago Talon agents gained control over some of the delinquent satellites left over from before the war, there was many such satellites still floating around up there silent yet still functioning the owners of which companies had long collapsed or just disappeared. It was by shear luck that the Agents managed to gain control over the Hubble Space Telescope, it was once the pride of the American Space Agency, now though the agency was almost all but dead the crippling effects of the war had left the American continent a shell of its former glory.

Talon agents begin taking Photos of the planets closest to us. They start on Mars since it is most logical place to hide and almost instantly find photos of what maybe structures, it's a little difficult to tell at 10km resolution but many agents fear the worst. The only way to be sure for now was to try and gain control of the delinquent Mars Global Surveyor. This would prove to be an impossible task, little did the Agents know the Aliens had long since gained control of it and had also gained control over a few of the earth bound ones.

The Chess game was in motion, the pieces where set, the Alien's and Talon stood on the doorstep of a new world for both races, for the humans it was time to defend their home, for the Aliens it was time to make a new one.
